UPDATE 18.02: Seems to be fixed with latest Gmail app update (6.0.220124) It’s frustrating ... Got to settings--- type the exchange email -- then select sync contacts and sync calendars. From there make sure you use Google contacts and Google calendars and set them to your default app. The standard contacts and calendars app that come with the phone have sync issues with the Outlook app. I currently set this for all my android users. If Gmail Desktop were a native Mac app, it probably wouldn’t have a native Gmail interface. Good point. I guess i've always just wanted a 1:1 replica of Gmails web interface but built with native components instead of being an embedded webpage (there'd be some differences naturally) – I just like the way everything is laid out on Gmail, with the tabs for different catergories at the top ....
